About 32 Volcanes

32 Volcanes is a non-profit organisation that strengthens communities holistically in the Western Highlands of Guatemala through regenerative development programs focused on health, education, the environment, food sovereignty, and art.

32 Volcanoes are actively breaking the cycle of poverty through sustainable community-led efforts. We attend to the immediate needs of individuals but with an eye on the future, developing a path towards more holistic care and community growth. We have seen success in our approach, working with generations of families to provide opportunities and improve livelihoods.

Maria Luisa López,

Community Leader in Mayan Mam Area

“Hello, I am María Luisa. For me, 32 Volcanes is a wonderful association, and I am very proud to be part of the 32 Volcanes association because it has been a protector of malnourished children, a protector of chronic patients, and a protector of nature, as they fight day by day to ensure that organic and native seeds don't disappear.

For my community, it has been a great help, as it has assisted many children in overcoming malnutrition. It has also been a great help for chronic patients, as they provide them with free medication.

In these years that I have been part of 32 Volcanes, I have had marvelous and sad experiences at the same time, seeing children fighting against malnutrition. But, in part, I feel happy for the achievement we have had in seeing children overcoming malnutrition thanks to the supplements that this association has provided them, and I feel happy to see the children graduating from the Nutrition Program. As a facilitator and leader of the community, I am grateful to all the donors because with their support, we have achieved many things, and there is still much to do because there are many children who still need it. Thank you very much to 32 Volcanes and the donors.”
